A Wide Range of Care

At SUN Behavioral Delaware, all of the services that we offer are individualized to serve your unmet needs in treatment. Our facility in Georgetown, DE, offers a wide variety of treatment options designed to promote success in recovery. Our team of highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals works together to ensure that patients receive coordinated care in a healing environment.

At our treatment facility, we currently offer the following programs:

Adolescent Treatment: Interactions with adolescents can differ greatly from interactions with adults. Because of this, the approach to the treatment of adolescents facing mental health issues must differ greatly from the treatment of adults facing similar issues. Our staff is highly skilled in treating the unique challenges of adolescents with compassion.

Adult Mental Health Services: Our adult mental health programs use evidence-based treatment, including everything from psychopharmacology to cognitive behavioral therapy. Our trauma care approach also uses the principles of safety, empowerment, trustworthiness, collaboration, and choice.

Adult Outpatient Services: Our outpatient clinic includes two important services, a partial hospitalization program and an intensive outpatient program. This allows us to provide unique options for counseling services that are individualized for each patient.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): PHP cares for patients who may be transitioning from inpatient care. It is also a suitable fit for more intensive treatment which can prevent the need for hospitalization.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): IOP is for anyone who may be stepping down from PHP, but needs the support and structure of treatment. It is suitable for those who may need more intensive treatment than that offered in outpatient care.

Telehealth Programming: We know that in-person treatment isn’t always an option. That’s why we’ve developed the ability to offer remotely the same compassionate care as our in-person outpatient programming.

Mental Healthcare Driven by Values

At SUN Behavioral Delaware, our four core values are safety, teamwork, integrity, and compassion.

By placing emphasis on these values, we’re able to accomplish our mission of creating partnership with communities to solve the unmet needs of those who suffer from mental illness and substance use disorders.

Our values reflect the behaviors that our employees determined to be essential to providing the best quality of care possible. A company-wide nomination process led to the formation of our Values Committee, 15 people across three of our hospitals, who led the process to determine SUN’s values. Our four values frame everything we do. Each value reflects behaviors that we hold ourselves to on behalf of our patients and their loved ones, as well as each other.

Treating Co-Occurring Disorders With Expertise

At SUN Behavioral Delaware, we specialize in the comprehensive and compassionate treatment of co-occurring disorders. When a person suffers from a mental health disorder such as schizophrenia or post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as addiction, this person is said to be suffering from co-occurring disorders.

In Sussex County Delaware, 11% of citizens struggle with frequent physical distress, while 14% have frequent mental anguish. These statistics portray the need for effective treatment for co-occurring disorders that address both mental health and substance use issues. Our clinical teams here at SUN Behavioral Delaware are ready to ensure that you receive the best possible addiction treatment and behavioral health assistance.

Our skilled mental health professionals work hard to determine the best course of treatment that addresses all issues the person is facing. The complex nature of co-occurring disorders can make treatment more challenging, and treatment that doesn’t address all issues can leave an individual at a high risk for relapse.
